Daily Briefing: Harvard University’s Crimson Normalizes Campus Antisemitism

Harvard Stands with The Terrorists. Who Do The Jews Stand With?:  Caroline Glick, JNS, May 9, 2022 — Following The Harvard Crimson’s adoption of the BDS movement and its goal of Israel’s annihilation, and in the face of a new act of barbarous jihad by ax-wielding Palestinian terrorists, in the week’s “Mideast News Hour,” Caroline Glick talks with professor Avi Bell of Bar-Ilan University and Dan Diker of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.

The BDS Pound of Flesh:  Einat Wilf, Tablet, May 10, 2022 — Several years ago, after I spoke at an AIPAC conference about Israel, Zionism, and the slow rise (at the time) of anti-Zionism in the West, a couple of concerned parents approached me. “Look,” they said, “we’re here, inside the conference, we get what you’re talking about. But our kids, who are the ones who should be hearing it, are outside, protesting with IfNotNow.”

For Further Reference:

The Harvard Crimson Normalizes Growing Campus Antisemitism:  Alan Dershowitz, Algemeiner, May 6, 2022 — On April 30, I submitted to the Harvard Crimson a detailed op-ed refuting its recently-published blood libel against Israel. Over the next several days, the Crimson first said they were “reviewing” my submission; then that they were “interested in running it;” and, on May 4, that they would run my piece “probably tonight,” promising to “reach out with edits later today if needed.”

Larry Summers and Alan Dershowitz Join Over 100 Harvard Faculty and Alumni In Denouncing Student Paper’s Israel Boycott Endorsement:  Andrew Lapin, Forward, May 10, 2022 —  The Harvard Crimson’recent endorsement of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement has attracted far more wide-ranging attention than a typical student paper’s editorial page, as faculty and alumni of the Ivy League institution have lined up to denounce the student paper’s op-ed and condemn the shift in Israel discussion on college campuses.

To the Editor: In Response to ‘In Support of Boycott, Divest, Sanctions and a Free Palestine’:  Ira E. Stoll, The Harvard Crimson, May 4, 2022 — To the editor:  In general I think the content of the Crimson should be up to undergraduates not alumni, and in the almost 30 years since I was president this is the first time I can remember that I am furious enough to write with a complaint.

Pro-Israel Editor Of ‘Harvard Crimson’ Blasts Editorial Supporting BDS: JNS, May 5, 2022 –A Jewish editor at Harvard University’s student-led newspaper The Harvard Crimson criticized a recent column in which the editorial board declared its support for the BDS movement against Israel and a free Palestine, and rejected the views of previous editors who voiced their opposition to BDS.

Harvard Faculty Members Sign Petition Against School Paper’s BDS Endorsement:  JNS and ILH Staff, Israel Hayom, May 11, 2022 — Since The Harvard Crimson‘s endorsement of the anti-Israel BDS movement two weeks ago, a group of more than 70 prominent members of Harvard’s faculty has begun a petition to condemn and correct the misinformation in the editorial.
