Who is an anti-Semitic?

Yair Lapid, Facebook July 14, 2021

From the things I carried today in the context of the seventh meeting of the Global Forum to fight anti-Semitism:

It’s time we start telling the right story about the anti-Semites.

It’s time we tell the world what we’re facing. The anti-Semites were not only in the Budapest ghetto. The anti-Semites were slave merchants who threw slave ships into the ocean water slaves chained in chains. The anti-Semites are the members of the Hutu tribe in Rwanda who massacred the Totsi tribe. The anti-Semites are Muslim fanatics who have killed more than 20 million other Muslims in the last decade. The anti-Semites are ISIS, and Boko Haram. The anti-Semites are people who beat young people from the LGBT community. The anti-Semites are everyone who persecutes people not because of what they did, but because of what they are. Because of how they were born. Antisemitism is not the first name of hate, it is its last name. She is anyone who eats hate so much that he wants to murder and destroy and chase and expel people just because they are different from him.

The modern anti-Semitism, which we are facing today, is everywhere. To fight her, we need allies. We need to recruit anyone who believes that people should not be persecuted because of their religion, or sexual orientation, or because of their origin or because of their gender. We need to tell them that anti-Semitism will never stop in Jews only. She will always move on. The fight is not between anti-Semites and Jews, the fight is between anti-Semites and everyone who believes in values like equality, and justice and human love.

Anti-Semitism is racism, so let’s talk to anyone who is against racism. Anti-Semitism is extremism, so let’s cooperate with anyone who extremism scares him. Anti-Semitism is xenophobia, so let’s recruit anyone who has ever been a stranger to us and tell him, ′′ This is also your war ״. If you don’t help us today to fight against anti-Semitism, someone might in the future look at your child and say to himself, I want him to die.״

A Hatred that Dwells Alone? Antisemitism Debate Cuts to Heart of Zionist Vision

Yair Lapid and the Normalization of anti-Semitism

Criticism of Israel is Not Antisemitic. But ‘Anti-Zionism’ is. This is Why

For Further Reference:

International Conference in Jerusalem Debates Response to the New Antisemitism:  Gur Salomon, TheMediaLine, July 28, 2021 — Jews beaten by pro-Palestinian thugs in broad daylight in downtown Manhattan. Jews assaulted by a mob at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles hours later. Synagogue windows smashed in Arizona, Illinois and cities across Europe. Convoys of cars driving through London’s streets with a loudspeaker threatening the rape of Jewish girls.

Is Antisemitism A Form Of Racism?:  Charles Dunst, Jerusalem Post, Aug. 13, 2018 — Are Jews too powerful to be considered “victims” of racism? Some progressives think so and have been downplaying accusations of antisemitism in light of a debate over prejudice and power.

Rabbi Sacks on the Connection Between, antisemitism, anti-Zionism, Judaism and Israel:  The Office of Rabbi Sacks, YouTube, Apr. 30, 2019 — As we approach Yom HaShoah, the day in the Jewish calendar when we remember the victims of the Holocaust, we tragically continue to see levels of antisemitism and antisemitic attacks rising in countries all over the world.

Will Lapid’s Charm Offensive Work Better Than Netanyahu’s Realpolitik?:  Jonathan S. Tobin, Israel Hayom, July 28, 2021 — Like all new governments determined to show that it is an improvement over its predecessor, the unlikely coalition cobbled together by Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid – though formally led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett – is determined to show that it will succeed where former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed.
