 Much of the argument against judicial reform in Israel is an Orwellian assertion of exactly what is not true. A law that limits the power of unelected judges to overrule the decisions of the peoples’ representatives is attacked as anti-democratic. 

Haredi Site Bashes Kotel Bill: ‘Increases Polarization and Hatred’ Zvika Klein, Jerusalem Post, Feb. 9, 2023

— Israel’s largest Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) news site Kikar HaShabbat published an editorial on Thursday bashing the Shas Party bill promoting six months in prison or a NIS 10,000 fine for women who wear a prayer shawl, dress immodestly or reads from the Torah at the Western Wall.
