News of Terrorism and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (March 23-29, 2022):  The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, Mar. 30, 2022 — The focus of terrorist activity this past week were two shooting attacks, one in Hadera on March 27, 2022, and the other in Bnei Brak on March 29, 2022. Seven people were killed in the attacks. It was the third terrorist attack inside Israel in the past week. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in Hadera.

With Ramadan Approaching, the Fear of Escalation:  Yohanan Tzoreff, INSS Insight No. 1580, Mar. 30, 2022 — The two recent deadly attacks – on March 22, 2022 in Beer Sheva by a resident of Hura who identified with ISIS; and on March 27 in Hadera by two ISIS loyalists from Umm al-Fahm, in which two Border Police were killed – has heightened fears of escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian arena and of a wave of attacks during the approaching month of Ramadan. 

Israel Bolsters Security Amid Deadliest Wave of Terrorist Attacks in Years:  Patrick Kingsley, NY Times, Mar. 30, 2022 — Israel security forces bolstered their presence across the country and the occupied territories early Wednesday, the morning after a Palestinian gunman killed five people in the fifth attack in less than two weeks.

Islamic State Claims Responsibility for Shooting Attack in Israel:  Joe Truzman, FDD’s Long War Journal, Mar. 27, 2022 — The Islamic State published a short statement claiming two fighters representing the “Islamic State in Palestine” carried out an attack resulting in the death of two police officers and the injury of others. The group identified “Ayman Ighbariya” and “Khaled Ighbariya” as the perpetrators of the attack.

Israel’s Bedouin: What is the Truth Behind the Crime-Ridden Headlines?:  Sarah Ben-Nun, Jerusalem Post, Mar. 10, 2022Nineteen arrested in large brawl at Soroka hospital in Beersheba,” a headline read in November. A fight broke out between two Bedouin families from Rahat, about 20 km. north of Beersheba. The reason it made the news was the location – brawls happen all the time.
