 – Through conversations with 42 Jewish students, we learned that they had been systematically targeted and excluded not only by other students but also within classrooms and by professors. Every student we interviewed, except one, discussed feeling alienated and excluded, if not outright harassed.

I had been working on an essay, but the noise was not what distracted me. Type the words “intifada” and “Jew” into Google—the first image that comes up is of a man in a keffiyeh holding a knife.

John Fetterman, the Pennsylvania Democrat who has emerged as an unlikely champion for Israel since Oct. 7, disavowed his alma mater, Harvard University, while receiving an award at Yeshiva University’s commencement ceremony.

Civil Rights Group Sues Harvard University for Allegedly Ignoring Antisemitism on Campus:  Dion J. Pierre, Algemeiner, May 22, 2024– Harvard University is being sued in US federal court by the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law, a civil rights organization that has accused the school of long ignoring antisemitic bullying and harassment of its Jewish students.

House Republicans Threaten Billions In Federal Funding From 10 Colleges As Part Of Antisemitism Inquiry:  Ailin Vilches Arguello, Washington Examiner, June 2, 2024 — Six congressional committees have launched an investigation into antisemitism at 10 leading American colleges and are considering the possibility of withholding billions in federal funding from these schools, according to a series of letters obtained by the Washington Examiner.

U of T President Appears Before House Committee to Speak About Antisemitism on Campuses: Raju Mudhar,  Toronto Star, May 27, 2024—  Shortly after a morning rally was held at the encampment at the University of Toronto, the school’s president and chancellor, Meric Gertler, appeared before a House of Commons committee, along with other school administrators, about antisemitism on campuses and what measures they are taking to deal with it.

Under Fire from Congress, Northwestern’s Jewish President Forcefully Defends Encampment Deal:  Andrew Lapin, JTA, May 23, 2024 — At one point in his congressional testimony on campus antisemitism, Northwestern University President Michael Schill found himself sparring with Rep. Elise Stefanik over a purported conversation he had with the school’s Hillel director.
