“ … the [BBC] episode was “a time of national shame” that “brings confidence in our national broadcaster’s ability to treat antisemitism seriously to a new low.” — Britain’s Chief Rabbi, Sir Ephraim Mirvis

MORAL COURAGE

This is an anti-Fascist:  Brendan O’Neill, Spiked, June 30, 2025 — The name we should remember from this weekend is not Bob Vylan. Or Pascal Robinson-Foster, to give the Israelophobic punk who caused such a stink at Glastonbury his real name. No, it’s Yisrael Natan Rosenfeld. For as Bob Vylan was whipping the smug mob of Glasto into a frenzy of violent loathing for the IDF, this young IDF soldier, himself a Brit, was laying down his life for the Jewish people. He was killed in Gaza on Sunday as he did battle with that army of anti-Semites, Hamas. Now that’s anti-fascism.

FOR FURTHER REFERENCE:

Glastonbury: Criminal Investigation Launched into Kneecap and Bob Vylan:  Abigail Anthony, National Review, June 30, 2025   At the Glastonbury Festival this past week, the musical duo known as Bob Vylan led the chants “Free, free, Palestine,” “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” and “Death, death to the IDF [Israel Defense Forces],” while some attendees waved massive Palestinian flags.

‘Death to the IDF’ Chant at Glastonbury Music Festival Sparks Uproar:  Max Colchester and David Luhnow, WSJ, June 30, 2025 — Britain’s state-run broadcaster and the U.K.’s biggest music festival came under criticism Monday after a punk group led thousands of cheering fans in a chant that called for the deaths of Israeli troops.

Glastonbury’s Hateful Chorus Of Approval:  Moral Doubt Was Drowned Out:  Howard Jacobson, Unherd, July 1, 2025  I relish a summer garden party as much as the next man — golden fields baking in the heat, the smell of simmering sausages and sun cream, the young in one another’s arms, with luck a tombola tent or a wellie-throwing competition, a tractor parade and perhaps a local farmer playing old English airs on his fiddle. Love, hope, promise. Sumer is icumen in…. What’s not to like?

How Israel was Turned into the Fount of All Evil:  Daniel Ben-Ami, Spiked, June 29, 2025 — Since 7 October and the beginning of Israel’s war against Hamas, Western ‘progressives’ have rounded on the Jewish State. On the streets and in the media, the volume and intensity of the loathing towards Israel, and invariably towards Jews, has often been overwhelming.
