Daily Briefing: Amnesty International Crosses The Line!

Withdraw Amnesty’s Charitable Status — Charity Commission Guidance Note CC9 says ‘a charity can campaign using emotive or controversial material, where this is lawful and justifiable in the context of the campaign. Such material must be factually accurate and have a legitimate evidence base.’Amnesty International’s appalling vilification of Israel – published today – is entitled ‘Israel’s Apartheid Against Palestinians.’ The title is an antisemitic lie and the document is shot through with antisemitism. In no way is this slander factually accurate.  It simply foments hate against Jews in the UK. The horrific hate which some of us saw when we counter-demonstrated in support of Israel in Whitehall last May. A Charity has to act ‘in the public interest’. Stoking antisemitism with lies about Israel and making context-free and one-sided analyses is obviously NOT in the public interest. We call on the Charity Commission to revoke Amnesty’s charitable status.  Sign petition here

For Further Reference:

Amnesty International’s Big Lie About Israel:  Alex Safian, Camera UK, Feb. 1, 2022 Amnesty International has a long history of leveling maliciously false charges against Israel (eg  hereherehere, and here), and its leader Agnès Callamard had to apologize after her bizarre anti-Israel tweets were publicized. So it’s only fitting that in its latest report alleging Israel is an apartheid and illegitimate state, the very first line is a blatant and malicious lie, a quotation from Benjamin Netanyahu mangled so that it seems to support such charges:

Analyzing Amnesty’s Antisemitic Apartheid Attack NGO Monitor, Feb. 2, 2022 On February 1, Amnesty International published yet another volume in the litany of copy-paste NGO reports that label Israel as an “apartheid” state. The publication breaks no new ground and is not meaningfully different from the discredited Human Rights Watch (HRW) and B’Tselem reports from 2021 – yet Amnesty says they took over four years to produce it.

The Amnesty International Hate Group Melanie Phillips, Melanie Phillips Substack, Feb. 1, 2022Amnesty International has produced a report that claims Israel is an “apartheid” state. This follows similar diatribes by other NGOs obsessively promoting the delegitimisation and destruction of Israel.

MFA Press Release: Amnesty UK Expected To Publish A False, Biased, And Antisemitic Report Tomorrow:  Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Announcement, Jan. 31, 2022The State of Israel absolutely rejects all the false allegations that appear in the report that Amnesty is expected to publish tomorrow.

The ‘Apartheid’ Libel of Israel:  WSJ Editorial, WSJ, Jan. 31, 2022 Perhaps you thought Israel had long ago established its right to exist as a Jewish state. Guess again. Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran want to eliminate Israel as we know it, but who would have thought they’d find allies in Amnesty International?
