Elon Musk Says ex-Twitter Staff Ran ‘Fauci Fan Club’ Slack Channel – As He Blasts Former Top Doc for Saying Controversial ‘Gain of Function’ Research Is ‘Worth It To Study Virus’:

Alex Hammer, Daily Mail, Dec. 28, 2022

“In an interview with the scientific journal Nature, Fauci quashed discussion about Covid’s origin and virus-tinkering experiments at the Wuhan lab in the epicenter of the pandemic – even though privately he expressed concern the virus was unleashed in an experiment-gone-wrong.”

New Twitter boss Elon Musk has claimed that former staffers at the social media company operated a bootlicking Slack channel titled ‘Fauci Fan Club’ – an unironic homage to the nation’s soon-to-be-retired infectious disease expert. Musk, 51, made the remark in a series of tweets Wednesday, following up on a series of posts earlier in the month that disparaged US top doc Anthony Fauci.

The new comments aired by Musk came in response to Fauci’s disregard to the Tesla kingpin’s barbs in a recent interview, after he demanded the doctor be prosecuted for allegedly starting the pandemic through the use of illicit, government-sanctioned experiments. Referred to as ‘gain-of-function’ research, the controversial experiments involve manipulating viruses to make them more severe or transmissible with the hope of getting ahead of future mutations and outbreaks.

Since taking over Twitter as CEO, Musk has been keen to show that the previous management promoted liberal narratives. Musk claims Fauci – who has repeatedly denied that Covid-19 was leaked in a lab – lied to Congress and secretly funded gain-of-function research.  On Wednesday, Musk honed in on these claims, accusing the physician – formerly the direct medical adviser to the president – of lying about the White House’s sanctioning of such research during an interview this month.

‘Despite these glaring issues, Twitter nonetheless had an internal Slack channel unironically called ‘Fauci Fan Club’,’ Musk wrote, in reference to the doctor’s claims that Musk’s theories should be disregarded as ‘misinformation.’ Expressing his disbelief of such a channel’s existence, the billionaire capped the tweet with a ‘mind blown’ emoji.

Musk – who two weeks ago tweeted ‘My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci’ – went on to link a Newsweek article titled ‘Fauci Was “Untruthful” to Congress About Wuhan Lab Research, New Documents Appear to Show.’  … source
