This was perceived by Islamists as a victory that would inspire supporters all around the world.”
It is very easy to link Tuesday’s terror attack in Be’er Sheva, the most deadly in recent years, with the atmosphere in the territories and the sharply growing escalation in violence ahead of Ramadan.
Mohammed Abu al-Kiyan, the terrorist who murdered three women and one man in a killing spree, was a known militant Islamic activist and even served time in prison because of his connections with ISIS. In East Jerusalem, there have been six stabbing attacks since the start of the month against Israelis. In another incident, soldiers were targeted in a hit-and-run attack in a Jenin-area village.
