Will the International Criminal Court Reap the Whirlwind?

Remember when Chuck Schumer threatened Supreme Court Justices? “You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you,” he said in 2020. Let’s see if he can muster any of the same convictions for the International Criminal Court, a lawless, politicized foreign body that threatens U.S. sovereignty and is out to punish Israel.

House Republicans and 45 Democrats voted Thursday to sanction ICC officials and their helpers involved in targeting Americans or citizens of allies that also haven’t consented to the court’s jurisdiction. That includes Israel, whose leaders the ICC is ready to string up.

U.S. soldiers traveling abroad could also be at risk. The ICC revived its investigation into the U.S. in Afghanistan after President Biden nixed President Trump’s earlier sanctions on the kangaroo court. The appeasement flopped.

The stakes are ever higher now. “The ICC has set a precedent for criminalizing self-defense,” says Rep. Ritchie Torres (D., N.Y.). “Any country daring to defend itself against an enemy that exploits civilians as human shields will face persecution posing as prosecution.”…SOURCE
